My First Longform Video: This $20K Ultimate Gaming Setup Could Be Yours
OgRobby - My First Longform Video: This $20K Ultimate Gaming Setup Could Be Yours
This is a big moment for me. After building content around shorts and quick clips for so long, I am finally stepping into something new: my very first longform YouTube video.
For the past year, I have been building a space that is more than just tech reviews. This is not about a room or even about me. It is about community and making sure everything I test, build, or review comes back to the people who have supported me from the start.
That is why this first longform video is so important. It gives me the time to slow down, explain my process, and bring you into the details of what I am working on.
Starting With the Room
To kick things off, I wanted to share something special: my plan to transform a plain upstairs room into a full gaming and creator space.
Right now, the room is teal and dark gray with a tan rug. It does not fit the vision. In the video, I walk through a 3D model of what the room could become while showing options for wall colors, flooring, lighting, and more.
The Vision
Walls
I am moving away from teal and dark gray. My options are light gray, which is clean and bright, or matte black, which feels bold and modern. I am leaning toward black because it feels more like a proper creator setup.
Left Wall
This will be the feature wall. I am adding wood panels, built-in storage, and underlighting to give the background depth when I am filming.
Flooring
The rug is gone. I am looking at several hardwood options including darker wood, lighter tones, and gray finishes. Hardwood is sharper, easier to maintain, and way more practical for rolling around in a chair.
Desk
I narrowed it down to three options: the IKEA Alex setup, the Uplift by Desky, and the Secretlab Magnus Pro. The black Magnus Pro is the front-runner because it ties the theme together.
Lighting
The room currently has no ceiling lights, so I will be installing recessed LEDs. Lighting is everything. It sets the mood for gaming, keeps me sharp when editing, and makes filming cleaner for everyone watching.
The Gear
This first longform video also dives into the products I am considering.
Chairs
Herman Miller Embody. Premium comfort and what I have used in most videos.
Razer Project Arielle. This one has heating and cooling built into the chair.
Secretlab. This is the one I am sitting in right now. Comfortable and reliable.
Desks
IKEA Alex countertop setup.
Uplift desk by Desky.
Secretlab Magnus Pro.
Keyboards
Wooting 60HE. One of my favorites because the analog switches are insane.
SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL.
Gravastar all black. A statement piece with a unique look.
Mice
Razer Viper V3 Pro. My favorite right now.
Logitech Superlight 2C. Their newest model.
Finalmouse.
PC Cases
Lian Li O11 Vision. Clean glass design with great airflow.
Hyte Y70. A fan favorite for the last couple of years.
Asus ProArt. Sleek and more creator focused.
Why This Matters
On the surface, this looks like just another setup project. But for me, it is not. This is about building a space that helps me create more, give more, and support the community in bigger ways.
Because this is my first longform video, it marks the beginning of something new. Shortform has been amazing, but longform lets me go deeper. It gives me space to explain the process, share the vision, and show you the steps I am taking.
Everything I do here, from testing a chair to picking a PC case, is part of a bigger mission. I want to help people who want to create but might not have access to the right tools. Everyone deserves a fair shot at chasing their dreams, and this room is just the start of that.
What’s Next
This is only the beginning. In the next phase, I will start locking in choices and actually building the space. From the walls and flooring to the gear and lighting, it is all going to come together piece by piece.
Thank you for being here and supporting me through this first big step.
